Relaxation is top priority at Spruce Cottage. This two-story country-style home sits on a beautiful one-acre lot, surrounded by lush landscaping. It is located near bay beaches, the shops and restaurants of Sag Harbor and local landmarks such as the Old Fort and the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum.
With three bedrooms, the house comfortably sleeps five guests. The master bedroom is on the first floor, complete with a king bed, an ensuite bathroom and French doors to the patio. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms – one with a queen bed and the other with a twin single bed – that share a bathroom with cast iron bathtub. There is also a queen-size sleep sofa in the living area.
The eat-in chef’s kitchen, which gets tons of natural light from the skylight above, features a sub-zero refrigerator, dual fuel stove and oven and generous counter space. The spacious informal dining area features a brick wall accent, big windows and a wooden dining table that seats four. There are two living areas separated by French doors, both with fireplaces and tasteful furnishings and décor.
Take it easy in the inviting backyard, which has a vegetable garden, a cutting garden bed and abundant greenery. There is a fenced-in outdoor pool, as well as a tree swing and two outdoor hammocks.
On the property, there is a detached studio that can be used for painting, as a writing space or as an office. The main house also has a large unfinished basement that has an exercise area with a stationary bike, weights and an exercise ball, as well as a washer and dryer.
