Recharge your batteries at a picturesque historic retreat on Shelter Island. The spacious 1887 Carpenter Gothic feels like a luxury bed-and-breakfast with charm to spare. It’s close to Shelter Island restaurants and the Shelter Island Heights Beach Club, which offers a private beach, covered patios and cabanas, as well as access to two tennis courts.
The house welcomes guests from the moment they step onto the front porch with its gingerbread trim, porch swing and gorgeous hydrangea landscaping. Through the cathedral front door, the house opens to a front parlor sitting area. The main floor features an open kitchen, a dining area with a table that seats four, a comfortable living room with a fireplace and a screened porch from which to admire the scenic grounds. There is hardwood flooring throughout the house, which is decorated with style, elegance and an eye for the floral.
With four bedrooms, the house comfortably sleeps six guests. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and balconies that offer beautiful views of the property.
