Welcome to this beautiful Hudson Valley retreat surrounded by nature! The home sits on a 1.3 acre wooded lot, with 4-bedrooms and 2-bathrooms that are perfect for families and groups looking for an escape from the city or just for a change from the routine. In addition to the four bedrooms, the house has two additional sleeping spaces (including a very semi-private room upstairs, tucked around a corner with a cozy bed and reading nook) and therefore comfortably accommodates larger groups, ensuring everyone has their own cozy corner. The home is set on a beautiful lot that provides privacy from neighbors and surroundings of greenery, flowers, and towering trees.

The home is tucked into the woods, with an abundance of natural light that enters the windows that face the open yard. The living spaces create flow throughout the main floor, allowing you to transition from the living room to the dining room and kitchen, making it a great space for socializing and entertaining. The living room features a huge, welcoming stone fireplace that gets warm to the touch after a fire has been lit, providing really nice soft / glowing warmth for you and your family/friends. It’s coupled with a huge, deep, extremely comfortable sofa that wraps around the living room for you to be able to sit back and enjoy the conversation, with other sitting areas scattered throughout the home.

The home also has a fully equipped kitchen that’s ready to go for large meals with family and friends. And parents will be able to travel lighter than usual as we have a number of toys available for young children (ages 0-3 primarily)

Outside you’ll find multiple areas for morning coffees, evening drinks, and relaxing: the first is right off of the kitchen, another is under a beautiful vine-covered pergola for al fresco dining, yet another on the back deck with an outdoor couch that literally seats you in the trees, and finally you can also sit around the outdoor fire pit on a cool evening and enjoy the view / sounds. During the summer, you can also take a dip into the above-ground pool or lounge poolside and soak up the sun and sounds of New York State nature – all of which is only one hour and 20 minutes from Brooklyn.

The home's location also gives you access to a ton of nearby activities and attractions. For small-town shopping at boutiques, grabbing coffee or hitting up farm-to-table restaurants, you can be in Cold Spring (20 mins) or Beacon (30 mins) with just a short drive. Hikers and anyone who loves the outdoors will be thrilled about the close proximity to an array of state parks and hiking trails – the closest being just 10 minutes away. And great restaurants can be found in all of the towns nearby, as so many of New York City’s most renowned chefs continue to move upstate and open up their own restaurants throughout the Hudson Valley.

The owners have spent years here, surrounded by nature, breathing more deeply and getting rejuvenated with friends and family, and have prepared the home so that you can do the same.

Our home has private access to Lake Oscawana where you can swim and enjoy an extremely rare, clean, freshwater summer day. It's beautiful and our private beach on the lake seldom has other people, meaning a day there is often just you and your friends on the shore, hanging out on the dock with drinks and chips. Definitely worth the 15 minute walk to the lake from our home.

Utility Disclaimer: Utility fees are included in the total rental amount. Guest shall be responsible for the costs associated with excessive usage of utilities during the term of the Reservation.

Cleaning Disclaimer: One light cleaning per every seven days and one end of stay cleaning is included in the reservation total. Guests may request additional cleanings at their expense.

Additional Persons: No additional persons beyond the max occupancy of this listing are permitted.

Events Policy: Events are prohibited

Pool Disclaimer: Due to the climate of the northeastern U.S., outdoor pools and attached hot tubs will typically only be available for use from Memorial Day to Labor Day. If your booking falls outside of that time frame and you intend to use the pool/hot tub, please be sure to inquire if they will be available for use prior to booking.
For energy conservation purposes, the pool heater may only be operational from 8am to 6pm.

Off-Season Disclaimer: It is typical that spring cleanings and updates do not take place until late April / early May. If your booking falls outside of Memorial Day to Labor Day, please inquire as to whether or not outdoor furniture and equipment will be available for use prior to booking.

Payment/Refund Policy: Unless otherwise stated on the property listing, all payments are non-refundable, however, should the guest elect to cancel its reservation, Marquis will use best efforts to work with the owner of the property to reopen the dates of the reservation in attempt to re-book the property (please note the decision to reopen dates is the owners'). Should Marquis be successful in re-booking the property for the original dates at the same or higher price than the original reservation, a refund less a 20% penalty, calculated as 20% on the total reservation amount, will be issued to the guest once payment is collected in full for the new reservation. If a new reservation is not made, the guest may use the property for the dates of its original reservation so long as payments have been made in accordance with the payment schedule established at the time of booking and Marquis is notified in writing 72 hours or more prior to the start of the reservation.

Security Deposit Disclaimer: Although rare, accidental damage does happen during a stay. In lieu of a security deposit, guests can rest easy knowing that this property is covered with up to $5,000 of damage protection. Coverage details are provided in the booking agreement.
